Bison BIO No.1 Biomass Project Community Meeting

On 20th September 2019, Bison Energy K.K. held a community meeting to introduce BISON BIO No.1 Biomass Power Generation Project, which is under development by our company.
There were 45 residents including the representative of the community who attended.

BISONBIO No.1 Biomass Power Plant is located in Mikuni-cho Sakai-shi of Fukui-ken, with the potential output capacity of 9,950kW by burning PKS (Palm Kernel Shell) as fuel.

At the beginning of the meeting, we took about 40 minutes to explain what Biomass Power Generation is, how it will be developed and the outline of the construction plan according to the explanation materials distributed to the attendees.
After the explanation, the attendees started to question what their concerns were with the project.
We summarized these questions and answered in the form of a paper report a few days later.
The following points were just some queried:
1. Contamination of foreign organisms and plants when importing PKS.
2. Consideration of impact on the surrounding environment: exhaust gas, noise, smelling.
3. What level of natural disaster can the power plant resist.
Biomass power generation generates electricity by using biological resources such as plants, so it does not increase Co2 when generating electricity.
Organizing this community meeting is a good experience and the most effective way to understand the resident’s concerns while developing the project.
We will continue to consider all the community’s feedback and continue to study Biomass Power Generation.
